After undergoing multiple surgeries to treat a diabetic ulcer and infections in my foot, I found myself in need of a place where I could heal safely—especially since I’d recently moved back to Mason City after my wife passed away. Nora Springs Care Center was recommended, and I can confidently say it was the best decision I could have made.From the moment I arrived, I was met with kindness and professionalism. Everyone—from the janitorial staff to the CNAs, nurses, therapy team, and even the driver—was compassionate, personable, and always smiling. There’s a real sense of joy here, even during the routines like medication rounds—we joke and laugh, and it makes a world of difference.The wound care team, especially Michaela, has been incredible. She’s not only taken great care of my foot but is also an outstanding teacher, showing other nurses how to care for similar wounds. Watching her lead by example and share her knowledge so generously has only deepened my appreciation for the level of care offered here.Even the food’s great, which is more than I expected in a care facility.If anyone asked me where to go for rehabilitation, I’d recommend Nora Springs in a heartbeat over any other facility in Mason City or beyond. On a scale of 1 to 10, they’re easily an 11 or 12.
