When Todd first came to Nora Springs, he wasn’t doing well. He had been diagnosed with cerebral frontal dementia and was experiencing intense brain fog. His memory was slipping, his balance was poor, and he could barely walk—even with a walker. Honestly, at that point, our biggest hope was simply that he could survive and be comfortable. We chose Nora Springs because it was close to home, and we had heard excellent reviews. From the very beginning, we saw why people spoke so highly of the facility. The team provided Todd with the care and encouragement he needed, and that support made all the difference.Today, he no longer uses a walker or a cane. He’s self-sufficient primarily and has made incredible progress, even if his condition still has its ups and downs. We say he’s either “on the mountain” or “in the valley”—but thanks to the team here, those mountain days are more frequent.Everyone at Nora Springs does a fantastic job. The staff not only meet his needs, but they truly care. They even know he likes soup for breakfast and make sure to save it for him when they can—small things that show just how much they pay attention. He enjoys using his iPad, playing games like Monopoly, doing puzzles to keep his mind and motor skills sharp, and attending the weekly church services. He especially loves music therapy when it’s offered.I would absolutely recommend Nora Springs to any friend or family member. The care is reliable, compassionate, and consistent. They treat Todd with dignity and patience, and that means everything to us.
