I knew I wanted to be close to my daughters and their families, but I also knew I didn’t want to live with them. With my macular degeneration progressing, I needed a place where I could maintain my independence but still get help when needed—and I was delighted when a spot opened up at Summit Heights Independent & Assisted Living.Since moving in, the team has supported me in so many ways. For example, when I gave up driving, they made sure I could still get to my medical appointments. That kind of practical support has made a big difference in my life.What I didn’t expect was how much I’d enjoy the little things—like looking out my front door and seeing green grass and beautiful trees. My apartment is just the right size for someone like me who’s downsized, and it feels like home.The staff here is wonderful. Two people in particular—Shanna and Jordan really brighten my days. I’ve also made friends, and I enjoy our yoga group, the “moving to music” sessions up at the care center, and being able to attend church right on campus.I’ve even become a bit of an unofficial ambassador—I give tours to friends and family when they visit and tell them all the reasons I love it here. The care is solid, the apartments are thoughtfully designed, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I truly believe Summit Heights is a great place to live.
