After Donna spent nearly three weeks at the VA hospital battling a serious bloodstream infection, she wasn’t strong enough to come home. That’s when the decision was made to transfer her to a care center to regain her strength—and for us, there was no question where she should go. Donna worked at Nora Springs Care Center for 29 years, and our daughter Angela has worked there for 28 years and counting. This facility is like family to us.Our biggest goal was to help Donna regain her strength—enough to stand up, move around on her own, and return to the comforts of daily life at home. The staff supported her every step of the way, and we’re incredibly grateful. A few team members really stood out—Yesi on third shift, as well as Jean and Crystal. Their kindness, patience, and care meant the world to Donna.She especially enjoyed being in the lunchroom, visiting with others, waving to the lady who sat across from her, and just being around people. That social connection was so important to her.Nora Springs has always had a strong reputation, and after seeing the quality of care they provided firsthand, I can say it’s well deserved. The staff are kind, attentive, and genuinely care about the people they serve. I’d recommend them to any family looking for a place that treats their loved ones with respect and heart.
